The Secret Tree
Jack is an old writer. He loves traveling. But how did he become a writer? It all started many years ago.
Once upon a time, young Jack was walking in the countryside near a mountain. Then, he saw something different. There was a big tree beside the river, taller than all the other trees around. “Is this real? I come here every week. Why didn’t I see it before?” Jack wanted to know.
He ran over there quickly. The tree was about one hundred meters tall, and it had a small door. “What is behind the door? Is there a key?” Jack started looking for it.
“Hello, Jack,” a monkey jumped down from the tree.
“Who are you? How do you know my name?” Jack asked. What a surprise!
“Aha,” the monkey answered, “I always watch this place. I need someone to tell its story, and I think you can do it!”
“But I am still learning how to write! I am only ten years old,” Jack said.
“It’s not too difficult. Don’t write with a pen,” the monkey put its hand on Jack’s shoulder. “You should write with your heart.”
“Great! I will be good at writing!” Jack smiled.
“Here you are.” The monkey gave Jack a red key. Jack opened the door. They went down the stairs together.
“Wow, so many animals!” Jack was very happy. Birds, pandas, elephants… Jack listened to all their stories. “I am going to write them down before I forget!” He was really excited.
“The sun is going down,” the monkey said. “Remember how to write, but keep the secret of our tree.”
When Jack looked back, the big tree and the animals turned into clouds. Everything was like magic.
Jack wrote and wrote, with his heart. Now, he is a famous writer. Of course, he never tells anyone about the secret tree.
